Dr. Alverna Champion

Dr. Champion is an experienced mathematics educator, researcher, and academic leader. She holds a doctorate in Mathematics Education and Curriculum from The University of Michigan, along with advanced degrees in mathematics and business management. Alverna has contributed to scholarly publications and conference presentations, and is passionate about supporting student achievement through strong teaching, research, and educational leadership. She relaxes by playing her baby grand piano and gardening - usually planting squash, tomatoes and eggplants.
Dimeca Thompson

Dimeca is an experienced educator with certification in grades K-5. She has a Bachelor of Science
from the UL Monroe, and a teaching certification from
Nicholls State University. She is
proficient in ZEARN (math), Eureka Math, Accelerated
Reading, and Lexia (Reading). You can find her currently teaching Special Education for elementary
and middle students. Dimeca is excited to see students excel and become
the best student that they can be.

Shanette is a passionate, renowned Teacher of the Year. She has extensive experience in virtual learning and is currently teaching 7th grade math. She is always seeking new ways to inspire students, collaborate with colleagues, and make a meaningful impact in education.
Dr. Martha Bryant

Dr. Bryant a veteran leader in K-12 through Post-Secondary education, researcher, consultant, and curriculum designer. She is experienced in virtual learning curriculum design and Learning Management Systems. She coauthored the DEEP INTO Math Curriculum model for K-8, and toured the State providing professional development to educators in Math. She is also a train the trainer for the Family Math Program. On top of all this, Martha is an experienced, talented musician - being a flutist of the Eunice Community Concert Band and Choir. When off-time at MMT, you can find her rehearsing musical selections for performances, and ending the day with a cozy Harry Potter marathon.
Dr. Julian Brooks

Dr. Brooks is an educational researcher who co-created, piloted, and
edited a culturally competent math curriculum series. He has presented this
curriculum and its development at conferences across the country. He taught
elementary math through and including Algebra 1 for multiple years. He
earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from ULL and advises graduate
students - serving on dissertation committees. You can find Julian, with a coffee in hand, traveling, writing, enjoying music, and studying history.
Matt Bryant, BSBA

Matt is the tech and business mind behind the curtain. A graduate of ULL in Business Administration, his career has lead him to many industries - from sales, voiceover, and now virtual learning. If you have a question or a problem, he can solve it. When he's not working at MMT, you can find him in his voiceover booth working on his next commercial, or on his guitar passing the time.
Rev. Charles West

Charles is a degreed mathematician with varied career experience. He utilized his math knowledge for several years to solve problems as an Exploration Geophysicist in seismic data processing, interpretation, and computer mapping. A lifelong learner, he also completed a theological Master of Divinity Degree, serving many years as an International Ministries Missionary, training and mentoring pastors, and establishing empowerment projects. He enjoys theological reading, writing, and watching sports.

Geraldine is a dedicated educator and graduate of Southern University with decades of experience teaching young learners. Her career has taken her across Louisiana, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Texas, giving her valuable experience in a variety of educational settings and a strong focus on childhood education. In her free time, Geraldine enjoys crocheting large blankets and creating handmade jewelry. Her passion for education and commitment to helping children succeed continues to inspire those around her.

When not tutoring, you can find him on the baseball field. He's been Edgar Martin Middle School's baseball coach for 7 years, and served on the Board for Lafayette Little League for 8 years.
